Location & Directions
The Parkhotel Engelsburg, an oasis in the heart of the old town of Recklinghausen, is centrally located at the beginning of the pedestrian zone. Protected by the old city wall and with a historic inner courtyard and green castle garden, the Engelsburg is nevertheless in a quiet location.
Arrival by car
From the west or east via the A2 to Kreuz Recklinghausen. Change to the A43 in the direction of Münster until Herten/Recklinghausen, exit Recklinghausen.
From the north or south via the A43 in the direction of Münster to Herten/Recklinghausen, Recklinghausen exit.
Keep straight on for approx. 1.5 km in the direction of the city centre until you reach Steintor, turn left at the last traffic lights, then right at the second traffic lights into Augustinessenstraße. If there are no parking spaces available in our inner courtyard, please drive directly into the multi-storey car park on Augustinessenstraße opposite the Engelsburg. You can exchange your parking ticket for an exit ticket at the hotel reception for 9.00 euros/day. If you arrive with an electric vehicle, you are welcome to charge it at the e-charging station in the courtyard. A warm welcome!
Arrival by public transport
From Recklinghausen train main station take bus line 224 to the bus stop Herzogswall, directly opposite the hotel (approx. 5 minutes) or choose the footpath from the main station through the pedestrian zone of the city centre to the Parkhotel Engelsburg (approx. 10 minutes).
